Care2 Response
3yThank you for your review. We do have some amazing people! Our shared progressive values bind us together and drive our commitment to building a more sustainable, caring and inclusive world. Our team is curious, scrappy and flexible to adapt and take on new responsibilities as the company grows. We have focused on professional development this past year and have provided numerous promotional opportunities over the years as a growth path within our team. Even though we’re a small company, we have always believed in providing comprehensive healthcare benefits for all of our employees and their families.
As a business and social enterprise for good, we are subject to the ups and downs of the financial markets and the budgets of our nonprofit clients. We have been in business and a force for good for 24 years. Over that time, many companies have come and gone in our activism space. We have 17 team members who have been with us for 8 years or more. We are also committed to building a diverse team. This is a particular challenge in the tech industry but we’re doing our best and have specific policies in place to support diversity in interviewing and hiring practices. Although our co-founders are men, almost 50% of our executive team are women.
Care2 will only work with progressive organizations, and that spans a wide range of causes and can at times be controversial. We are pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-democracy, antiracist and pro-LGBTQ equality. We do not work with Republican political candidates or the oil, gun or tobacco industries. This is not an exhaustive list but represents our approach of supporting progressive issues and opposing conservative ones.
This is the framework we apply when deciding who to work with. Of course, some groups don’t fit neatly into one box. Cause-based coalitions can be messy and the political landscape is always evolving. We won’t agree with all of our clients on all of their positions, but we work to find alignment on the issues that matter to our clients, our employees and our community of over 50 million people worldwide.
We have heard concerns from current and former team members, discussed them as a team, and have increased transparency around our processes for vetting the clients and issues Care2 takes on. Every employee is encouraged to ask questions and seek to understand why we’re working with a client that may not seem to fit. Sometimes well-informed, good-intentioned, reasonable people will disagree. But we take the question of who we work with seriously, and strive to take feedback, concerns, and new information into account.
Progressives are the majority in the U.S. and Care2 is fortunate to have some of the best and brightest on our team! We have the power to change the world by understanding and respecting different points of view and standing together to fight the good fight!
