Great Place to Work if YOU are willing to work! - Manager Carahsoft Employee Review

Pros

Tremendous growth opportunity within the company, great view of the bigger picture within selling to the government, agile and flexible "pivot to yes" culture. It is really what you make of it. If you come in and work hard, you'll see yourself grow faster than you would anywhere else in Corporate America. It helps when you get to work with such a dynamic group of people too!

Cons

Really not many, but it CAN be a little micro-managey at times.

Pros

4.5 years working at Carahsoft, I’ve seen and heard it all. Work from home, too many people take this for granted. They promote within! Plenty of opportunity to move up if you work hard and deserve obviously. Work hard, be proactive, take accountability, be reliable, consistent aka do your job and you aren’t micromanaged. If the above is done, they compensate you very nicely. Craig pays 50% of health insurance (not sure if this has changed for new hires) that is unheard of and extremely helpful. Insurance is great, never had any issues. Craig cares and does so much for his employees, way more than I think some people deserve and take for granted. Team Trip, 401k match, Shoe Day, Epic Bar Tab, Reggae Fest, milestone and birthday gift cards, Trophy Bottle, snack boxes, and more.

Cons

They hire kids right out of college with zero work ethic and work experience. They don’t fire people enough, you have a handful of top performers picking up the slack for their colleagues and carrying the team. 60+% of my pay is bonus which makes tax season daunting and stressful.

Pros

- Work from anywhere in the US

Cons

- Team dynamics are horrible - Many team leads micromanage - Work benefits are terrible (time off, 401k, insurance) - Pay is atrocious for the amount of work required, number of rules you must remember. MUST have a second form of income - No overtime, despite constantly working more than 40 hours - No promotions available, no way to work your way up the ladder (without reapplying to a different role) - No socializing allowed virtually - every keystroke is tracked so they know if you're chatting (can we not chat and work?)
