Pros
-Great office space -Used to have the culture of a family business where management had their employees backs -benefits and hybrid work schedule was a plus when CarGurus took over
Cons
Every decision CarGurus made following the departure of Bruce Thompson continued to sink the business. New leadership brought in did not take the time to understand the details of what made the business work, and where things were being held together by band aids. They saw the business continue to decline as new processes kept being implemented, pay plans changed rapidly, and multiple new account management models saw employee roles changed with no consistency in driving a vision toward improving the business. Not knowing what else to do, they executed massive layoffs, with some of the company's top performers included. With a now thin workforce, the business is still trending in the wrong direction - just look at CarGurus past few earnings reports.
