I honestly don’t know where to begin. My experience at CarGurus was nothing short of a nightmare, and it’s all thanks to the toxic leadership that has been allowed to fester within the company. There’s absolutely no clear vision for the future, and it’s painfully obvious in how things are handled day-to-day.
In less than two years, one leader alone has let go of at least six people, and the cycle of elimination shows no signs of stopping. It’s clear that anyone who dares to question these decisions becomes a target. Those who challenge the status quo are slowly tortured with miserable treatment until they eventually find themselves out the door. It’s disheartening to see good, hard-working people who care about the company get crushed by this leadership style.
On top of that, there’s another leader who takes the cake for sheer bullying and verbal harassment. If you ask questions or fail to meet expectations that are vague at best, you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of toxic, condescending comments and belittling behavior. Instead of fostering an environment where people can grow, it’s a culture of fear and manipulation where any sign of weakness is exploited.
