I’ve heard indications that recent construction may be preparing for a return-to-office requirement, and I want to be clear that this would be a deal-breaker for me. If I am required to return to the office, I would choose to leave the company rather than comply. I have spoken with others who feel the same way. Remote work is a defining benefit of working here and removing it would have a direct and immediate impact on retention.
Cons
Leave the current remote structure in place. The company has performed exceptionally well in a remote environment, and there is no business justification for changing what is clearly working. Forcing a return to office would only undermine morale, productivity, and engagement—creating frustration where none currently exists.
