Good for temp or secondary job, unsure about job security - Caption Agent CaptionCall Employee Review

Pros

Has flexibility in scheduling. Good for introverts or those who don't want to deal with people. Paid and Sick time off accrue based on time worked. Okay benefits package. Team Leads seem caring and willing to help. Plenty of resources offered to develop skill. Mental health resources offered. Differentials when working Sat/Sun.

Cons

You are told you have all the time needed to complete self paced training which includes passing several test calls and developing captioning skill when in reality there's a set time. Consistently encounter racist call content. Back to back calls everyday for morning shift. Pay is too little for the amount of skill refinement needed to pass test calls on the floor. Nonexistent job culture, you'll only speak to your Team Lead mostly. No opportunity for overtime, possible corrective action if you go over significantly from scheduled time. Recently, audio quality in test calls is not audible/clear enough, almost feels like sabotage. New CEO is changing the company and laid off many people. They recently implemented automated captioning so Team Leads are pushing for high test scores and have hinted we could lose our jobs to the automated service. Can't recommend this job for now due to this.

Pros

Job had great benefits for employees, fairly easy and straightforward

Cons

Very micromanaging - especially with time and schedule adherence. Very stressful with high call volume - only seconds between calls and still expected to do tasks in between.
