Pros

Benefits package was good Hybrid work was useful

Cons

A culture of low trust, with employees often not given the autonomy to carry out the roles they were hired for. Limited collaboration between teams, which made progress difficult and often created unnecessary friction. The marketing team in particular was often restricted from implementing effective strategies, while still being held accountable for poor results. Frequent “restructures” over the last year created uncertainty and felt poorly communicated, which impacted morale significantly. Decision-making often felt top-down, with little room for expertise or constructive challenge.

Pros

- The marketing team itself is genuinely lovely, supportive, welcoming, and talented people. - The wider fostering business seems to have good values and positive intentions. - Flexible Working - 4 days at home, 1 day in the office.

Cons

• Leadership within the marketing department creates a toxic working environment. From day one, I experienced belittling, aggressive communication that left me feeling undermined and unsupported. • Office culture included unprofessional conversations about former and current members of staff. • My mental health was impacted and I left after only a month. • The leadership style relies on control rather than trust and respect, which overshadows the supportive nature of the team. • No induction was provided, with the view that it was unnecessary. • Expectations included managing organic and paid social, designing graphics, creating copy, filming, and video editing – effectively the workload of multiple roles.

Capstone Foster Care Response

As an organisation we have been and continue to be a reflective organisation, having looked into this situation are assured that time and space was made available for the member of staff to talk and share any concerns and that we were unfortunately not given any opportunity to formally consider this situation as the member of staff chose not to do this.
