Pros

Pay was ok. Some autonomy with hours. Some of the customers were nice.

Cons

The job that I ended up doing was almost not at all what was in the contract or Indeed listing. Benefits listed in the ad that I found out after being hired aren't offered. Interview was an hour late (for both), one was done while she was driving. A lot of rude and entitled customers, but it comes with the job. Owner insisted that things be a certain way and constantly changed her mind then tried to gaslight you into thinking that she was right. Insisted that membership cancellations/refunds be sent to her directly but kept changing how she wants them sent and never actually approved any, so lots of angry calls from people getting charged. Owner also would not give refunds to people even if they deserved it, only if the customer demanded it. Owner openly, in front of other staff, would say very demeaning things that was incredibly unprofessional. Would hang up on or ignore texts if she didn't want to answer a question or if you showed her that she was wrong. Would insist she was right but when it was shown she was wrong, would demand to know why you didn't tell her. I was openly harassed by an employee and didn't feel like HR or the owner would take it seriously. I did not feel safe talking to HR about my concerns, the only one who I felt was safe was an outside consultant. Some unprofessional comments about gender as well, and an employee making a racial comment that was out of line. Unprofessional clothes with their sister company (Washington Nutrition and Counseling Group) but that wasn't an issue to the owner or that some employees were high during their shifts or that providers were performing various forms of corporate theft and caught multiple times doing it (costing the company thousands), and that the whole staff is on their phones (Dance Moms was popular), watching TV, but would only care if I was on my phone and had background noise. It didn't matter that everyone else was but it was a huge issue with only me, not those that were stealing or doing the same or working high. I held myself to a high standard and got my work done but it was always a "gotcha" game of constantly moving the goal post and trying to find fault and that it was never done to the owner's satisfaction. Many other employees feel the same and are looking elsewhere for employment, very high turnover. Owner very moody and micromanages everyone. You will be under a microscope, talked down upon in front of coworkers and customers, and expected to read the constantly changing mind of the owner. She asks for your opinion but then says you're wrong and continues with her way anyway. Expect many side tasks on top of your daily ones. Ended up listing times that I was treated unfairly (in case I needed to go to HR or to the BBB) with dates, times, and names, and in a three month period, took up multiple pages. Many employees would take weeks of time off or suddenly need to take time off, but I needed three days of vacation given weeks in advance and then a personal emergency and it was a huge issue for only my case. I would strongly advise caution with this company. I do not tolerate disrespect, and I received plenty here. I doubt this company will last much longer, especially with its competitors offering cheaper and more convenient services. I have worked some really rough and demanding jobs, but at least I didn't leave everyday feeling like less of a person.
