Pros

Good benefits. Outwardly nice, collaborative culture.

Cons

The company is having an identity crisis. Can't figure out who it wants to be. Can't change fast enough to compete. Some departments undergo frequent reorganizations, leading to some layoffs, shuffling, bitterness. Managers are protected by each other and HR. HR forces managers to hire people who are not experienced in order to keep salaries down. Employees are left to fend for themselves. Raises and promotions are based on how nice you are to your manager. Ratings are kept low to "give people something to strive for." Annual raises are in the 2% range.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about working at Capital. In this changing industry and world, we continue to focus on being nimble. We know change is never easy and tends to be an iterative process. We strive to adapt while maintaining our core values and emphasis on associate engagement. Capital has a strong team of associates including those with long-tenure as well as newer people to the firm - all selected based on the skills needed to perform in their roles. We know change can be challenging and often raises questions. We welcome ongoing dialog and encourage you to continue to share your feedback: Glassdoor is a great way to do so, as is talking directly to your manager or someone in HR including KTKB (ktkb@capgroup.com).

Pros

The bonuses and CSRP of 15% as well as many benefits are unmatched. I enjoy many of my colleagues and have made life long friends.

Cons

It was a great place to work and many will continue to feel that way until they are affected like those of us in the Norfolk Virginia office. There is no loyalty from the company and people are replaced either by a “vision“ of technology that doesn’t yet even exist within the organization or by cheap labor “offshore“. I thought I would retire from here and now I find myself out of a job after over 20 years before the end of 2027.
