Pros

- Capital Dynamics is really a superb environment for independent investment professionals. You'll learn on the job (not from process manuals) and will be judged on results of your work instead of time spent in the office. - This environment suited me very well - my managers recognised it and allowed me to progress rapidly - Unique blend of Swiss (heritage) and US (currently dominant office) working cultures, which results in a friendly, demanding (yet sometimes slightly confusing) environment - Capable senior management - Good work life balance, the company encourages you to participate in sports and charity activities, and generally shows flexibility in working arrangements - Global company with multiple offices, allowing for transfers or short stints in different environments - You will learn a lot at CD and if you're good, you''ll progress quickly

Cons

- Comp could be better - Some processes are archaic - Understaffed (as all firms in PE)

Pros

One of the things that makes this company stand out is the fantastic support that it gives to its employees. Employees are encouraged to explore new roles and responsibilities, not only by their direct line managers, but by managers across different teams and departments. The company’s structure is designed so that upper management is accessible to everyone. They make it a point to be available for questions or discussion, and are open to new ideas and suggestions. Employees who recommend improvements or bring forth new solutions are generally given the freedom to run with them, and the mentoring to be successful and get promoted.

Cons

Very few. The fact that the company has offices around the globe sometimes makes communicating with colleagues in various time zones challenging, but that is the nature of any truly international firm. The company is flexible about scheduling and very reasonable when it comes to work/life balance. Expectations are high but fair, and those who work hard and produce results advance accordingly.
