A lot of internal politics and favouritism, particularly when it comes to the promotion process and project allocation.
Lack of transparency and consistency regarding promotion process. Has resulted in good staff leaving and mediocre staff being retained.
Focus on internal contributions means a lot of pointless work is done out of the need to be seen to be doing something. Good internal work has long be taken, so new hires are at a disadvantage.
No dedicated bid team, resulting in long hours and unequal workload if you are made to work on one.
Bench is not utilised well. Some people sit on it and do nothing whilst those on projects pick up multiple pieces of work.
Very different pipeline of work and progression timelines between units. The smaller units have much more accelerated career progression, despite the quality of work being the same (or worse) as their counterparts in the larger units. That is quite demotivating.
Lack of accountability at senior levels when things go wrong, often caused by over-delegating work.
Lack of female representation C3 and above, not helped by bit of a male culture in places and unchallenged unconscious bias.
