Pros

small community, friendly good place to 'retire' your career ambitions quiet work environment building is new and that is nice

Cons

very conventional thinkers station is confused at its mission -- keeps expanding like its corporate programming was confusing -- more music like a community church radio station, rather than news like an NPR member station

Pros

I loved interning with CapRadio. I met almost every person in the company and felt like my work was valued. My manager was amazing and truly cared about me getting growth and experience.

Cons

Internship ended early due to Covid19

Pros

Staff is friendly, professional and believe in the importance of public media and local news. Pay is decent for early-career local news reporters, but don’t expect a raise or COLA anytime soon.

Cons

Organization has been plagued by mismanagement, financial troubles and attrition for over a year. There’s no money for pizza parties, let alone raises. Everyone is doing more work to compensate for unfilled vacant positions, so burnout is real if you don’t set hard boundaries.
