Pros

Inspiring people committed to making a difference. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. A fairly entrepreneurial culture - if you have a good idea and a solid plan, the firm gives you the resources to succeed. Solid design chops - we've won a ton of design awards for projects big and small. It varies by office, but most of our studios have a great design culture. Innovation and experimentation is encouraged. The firm is small enough to make decision making fairly easy. You don't have to go through endless hoops to get stuff done.

Cons

My biggest complaint is in the "old guard" leadership. This is getting a lot better, but there are still a few leaders in the firm that are pretty disconnected from the realities of practicing architecture in 2016. With that said, the voices of creative and up-and-coming leadership far outweigh those of the old guard, so it's not that big of a deal.

Thanks for leaving us feedback! We’re proud of our people, culture and design chops. Thanks for contributing to these attributes and making our company special. In regards to our leadership team, we’re happy to share that Brad Lukanic was announced as our new CEO just last week. An award-winning architect, Brad brings a clear understanding of the current realities and future opportunities present in the design industry. Architect magazine actually just ran a Q&A with him last week. Check it out to learn more about Brad and his thoughts on the industry: http://www.architectmagazine.com/practice/q-a-cannondesign-ceo-brad-lukanic_o

Pros

Lots of corporate perks, ARE, remote work

Cons

Figure this out early. They are looking for strong corporate citizenship and follower of corporate culture. So, if you say the wrong thing around the water cooler, you will be seeing the HR soon. Be a zombie, get it right the first time and you will keep your job.
