Pros

You'll have a lot of fun here if you're an efficient worker. Stay on top of your deadlines and don't over-promise and you'll do great and have a great time along the way. Regardless of what department you fall into, you'll have opportunities to contribute in meaningful and interesting ways on a wide variety of projects. For a company this size, you'll be compensated at or above fair value for the market, and get decent benefits to boot. Candeo is pretty progressive in it's benefit structures, and that's an asset. You'll have ample opportunities to pave your own ways. If you are truly an innovator, you'll be at home, and grow well with the company - that is, if you don't outgrow it.

Cons

Deparments can be extremely compartmentalized, and collaboration between them is usually frustrating at best. This wouldn't be an issue but project management and account management usually did not coordinate projects well - often resorting to technology solutions that just could easily have been solved by better planning from the start. At the end of the day, what the president (Zack) says, is what goes, and there can be a serious disjoint between upper management and the work actually being done. This wouldn't be a problem, but typically Zack stretched himself far too thin to be able to assist in the day-to-day operations of the business. On at least a few occasions I witnessed, Candeo intentionally overbilled clients, and then asked for forgiveness after the fact. I'm not sure what this was about but it always seemed sketchy to me. Candeo shoots for projects it is not prepared to handle, and huge amounts of time was frequently wasted on RFPs that we had absolutely 0% chance of winning. The direction the company was going was always kind of hard to see. I never worried about cash flow, but I often wondered what I was going to be doing 3-6 months from any point in time.

Dear anonymous- Thank you for the thoughtful feedback; I will take it to heart. I know that I and the agency have some growing to do, and appreciate whatever you contributed while you were here. It's easy to get caught up in the challenges of a young and growing company. Process management, new business development and strategy will always be challenges that I and our team must rise to meet. We will continue to celebrate failures and I will encourage the team to challenge myself and other leaders, especially when they feel something "sketchy" is happening. We strive for transparency and hope that our team, clients and partners challenge us to help us improve. All the best, Zack

Pros

Candeo was one of my first jobs. Although my time here was brief (I left due to family needs), I really enjoyed it. The pay was above market and the benefits were at market value. The people I worked with and my leader was excellent. Culture/community was the biggest benefit, in my mind. From what I know, Candeo grew quickly and is catching up with itself. Over a few years, they grewx5 in clients and staff so you'll find that process and communication is under constant change. I learned that if you feel lost, just ask your leader for assistance. Candeo is what you make it. Even though there may not always be a clear path for growth, you are given the tools to forge your own.

Cons

Leadership was just forming as I started with Candeo and this is an area where the agency could do much better. There isn't clear leadership over various parts of the business. I would make this a priority. I believe the lack of clear leadership is what contributes to silo like departments.
