Pros
Amazing people contributing to a friendly and supportive culture. Leadership and colleagues respect both your professional and personal needs and goals. Roles are often multifunctional, which I prefer as no two days are the same and work isn't as boring or repetitive. Provides oppurtunities for learning about the field of law, networking with legal professionals, and participating in initiatives that can enact concrete change in the government and community. Plenty of events both in and out of office that don't feel like typical work gatherings. Hybrid work schedule after probation is a huge plus. Very good work-life balance. Good health/dental benefits and generous with time off. Nice and clean office space in a very convenient location for transit.
Cons
Dealing with members and the general public outside of the organization can be challenging due to the unexpected nature of inquiries and personalities. As a non-profit, pay is fair but not extremely competitive. Limited growth potential depending on the role.
