Good community of people to work with, good entry level positions

Benefits are not very competitive, not a lot of opportunity for promotion

The coworkers are very caring and genuine. They are my second family instead of my coworkers.Everyone likes each other and do their best to support and be flexible with each other. There's no politics or drama. The management and program staff are very open to new ideas and feedback from all staff. Management and ED, board are very approachable. Although they are a Christian organization, the programs are not evangelical and do not contain heavy faith aspects. Most of the Christian values are shown giving back to the community through their programs. They are open to people of other religions. The work is meaningful and workload is light. Work hours are flexible depending on position.

Very low salary, it's impossible to afford living in SF on their salary. A lot of staff live outside of SF. There is no room for moving upwards or learning skills transferable to work outside of social/youth work. Staff are expected to just learn how to do their job by themselves. No trainings for staff to build skill set and a lot of the details of the job were not explained by my manager during onboarding, which left me feeling lost. I had to figure out how to do things by myself and end up running the program my own way. Medical benefits are expensive for the salary that they have. No staff training. Working hours can be irregular depending on your position.
