      Pros

      Beautiful building, access to good books, mostly wonderful and interesting coworkers. There has been a new director hired since I left, so the culture may have changed.

      Cons

      Employee morale is given lip service, but never really attended to. Some departments never have meetings that include everyone. I went years without receiving a performance evaluation. In order to advance, you have to apply for a higher open position, which is rare.

      Intermittent position gives good opportunity to get foot in the door with library work.

      Large organization means there is a lot of competition even internally for any job postings.
