Pros

Salary is about what you’d expect for a public accounting firm. Good 401(k) match.

Cons

Oh man, where do I begin. -Hours are brutal. I get that this would be the expectation a larger public accounting firm but not a medium sized firm like Calvetti Ferguson. Also there is “unlimited PTO” but a very small window in which you can actually take it. Poor work/life balance. -Hard work is rewarded with more work. Raises and bonuses don’t seem to be based on merit. -Too many often pointless meetings and social gatherings make it difficult to complete assigned projects and reach billable hour goals (which managers and above check and complain about constantly). A lot of this time would be better spent on the development and relevant training of employees. -It is a mid-sized firm but feels like a huge firm. It feels like you are just a number to management and don’t matter. -Training is subpar. It did not prepare me enough for the role. -The company claims to have a glamorous open PTO policy but realistically you can only take a few weeks off per year. -Work/life balance does not exist. If you work here, the expectation is that your entire life revolves around Calvetti Ferguson.
