      The knowledge that you are improving the much needed transportation needs and safety of fellow Californians.

      Cons

      Dealing with management and the environmental bureaucracies. Citizens who don't know and don't want to know what goes into getting a project constructed. Busy body citizens who have too much time on the hands and pretend to speak for the interests of all the people.
