Pros
Patients and colleagues, the pharmacy, 1199 union, salary (for some), amazing benefits were a battle but remain in place
Cons
Administrators are a nightmare. Busy being unethical and defending each other. They pretend to listen to your serious concerns but they don't even take notes - it's nothing more than a gesture. They do not intend to take action on major issues. Our computers and our medical records systems break down constantly and slow us down in a VERY busy clinic. Aggressive patients insult and threaten staff, but are welcomed back- I once found 4 staff members hiding in an exam room to avoid verbal abuse. Why protect patients over staff? So chaotic and disorganized. SO. MUCH. TURNOVER. Staff on all levels not adequately trained, and it's frankly dangerous. Patients can never get through on the phone for serious issues like med refills or to report hospitalization- pretty sure bad things happen because we can't do something so simple as picking up the phone. But if I inquire, I'm told that our phone wait time is less than 5 minutes. So I guess patients, hospitals, pharmacies- they're all lying, our phones work fine. If you're not a "yes" person, you'll have problems, no matter how hard you try to fly low on the radar. They'll find any reason to come for you, and when they come, they come as a team - of absolute children. I could write a book about this place. I'm tired of watching my colleagues and patients be treated like garbage. I will be moving on.
