Pros

Developed close relationships with co-workers, partially due to our shared trauma of working in such a chaotic and disorganized environment.

Cons

General Manager was incompetent, manipulative, and completely disconnected from the world around her. Employees were micromanaged on a level I've never experienced in my career and manipulated regularly. Overall disorganization and aloofness of GM had constant trickle-down effect that made daily operations impossible and created hectic, reactionary scenarios on a regular basis. The owners of the business were notified many times and nothing happened - so I doubt this company will ever be a worthwhile career endeavor.

Pros

The staff/members/guests are wonderful to work with. It is a beautiful building with perks like F&B discounts, ski breaks, retail discounts, and a seasonal ski pass program. It is a great place to get your foot in the door and to gain experience.

Cons

The upper management team will shift ops and culture to the whims and wills of the owners. Ownership is not on-site and does not have a firm grasp on the economy or business model. The building is their playground and the house does not know who it is outside of that. Things are in constant flux and the financial model is not balanced Caldera will hire you and employ you until you cap out on their salary scale. Tons of employee turnover.
