Pros

There has been a lot of changes since I've started years ago but the changes are a good thing. Company has grown over 100 employees since I have started and company is investing time and money to lay the ground work to grow exponentially. If you're a decent field engineer with good communication skills who wants to work and learn, you will make a lot of money. Cal Net has a lot of incentives for engineers to make money from optional over time, bonuses, contests and they even reimburse your certification exams that you pass. There is so much opportunity for those who want tot work and are willing to play in a team environment. If you don't want to work as hard, that is okay, you just won't make as much as those who are really motivated.

Cons

If you work as a in house tech, for a government agency, or if you don't have time management skills or team work skills, don't apply. A lot of work right now and more in the pipeline, so if you want to just coast, not a good idea to apply here. For new engineers their can also be up to 1-2 hours of drive time a day if your clients are scattered or if you get stuck in traffic. This can be minimized as you move through the ranks.

Pros

My time at Cal Net has been very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to work with amazing people and clients. I encourage current and prospective team members to continue to focus on their own continual improvement and prepare their skills for the opportunities that new solutions in the cloud will bring to the industry.

Cons

There is good and bad with anything. Cal Net is no different. Glad to see management taking quick action when needed.

Pros

Great technicians! The IT support team are all real pros from the top levels to the bottom levels.

Cons

Horrible corporate practices that set up the team to fail. Felt like these "set up to fail" practices were there on purpose to keep techs humble and to remove any leverage for them to ask for advancement. Eventually the environment became abusive which put many of the techs on edge (for fear of losing their jobs) and created a culture of threats and intimidation. Sales team has heavy influences on management and often times the sales team's suggestions would later become company policies across all departments (whether they were wise suggestions or not. Often times not). Management showed heavy favoritism towards certain employees while performing a lot of "blame shifting" towards others. A lot of bad corporate politics involved. Heavy nepotism. The CEO made promises that were not kept. They just experienced a massive layoff in the Fall of 2016; I can only assume that it is because of these awful practices that have been a part of their culture for years. Lastly, the all-hands meeting that is held once a year is a total show for the management and people in-favor to glorify themselves in front of the company while giving an occasional honor to a deserving employee outside of that nepotistic circle.
