Working for Cadent. It’s an absolute joke. No work life balance. Declined annual leave. As the company have now decided our terms and conditions mean nothing. To trial a new rota which is not working. We had 30 engineers when I started but to save money they kept cutting places. We now operate with less than 19 engineers, when it goes cold or if an incident happens the network will be in anarchy. Constant amendments to rota without giving you notice to make changes at home. Forcing you to work over. Lack of career progression Management afraid to manage, happy to agree with senior leadership to save there jobs. Spineless leadership. Always quick to bang on about an inclusive work life, then as a field engineer you are reminded frequently how the woke office staff have party’s to celebrate some garbage event organised by Cadent. As a gas distribution business with many HSE enforcement notices, you’d think falsifying emergency standards would be a bad thing but not to them. They are happy to allow this so long as it looks good on paper.
