Pros
Free housing, free partial meal plan, and this role opens many opportunities to make connections around campus.
Cons
Thankfully, things are currently changing about the role, but it can be a lot. Before we get into the nitty-gritty, please know that as long as you have good time management and get what you need to get done, done, this job is 100% doable. Get things done before they are due, not day of, and it'll help sooo much. Time for the nitty-gritty... Some tasks feel like busy work. Sometimes, even as a returner, you can feel lost or unsure of how to handle certain things. Events can be a pain to put together b/c you'll know no one will go, but you still have to sit there for an hour. However, events are fun when you do them with someone else (if they pull their weight). Now, if you are unfortunate enough to have ongoing roommate conflicts, it's very draining to deal with, especially during midterms and the Spring semester. In the Spring, I'm trying to lock in and prepare for finals, but then there are rooms you have to deal with for the entire semester. Unfortunately, this is part of the job, but it still sucks because these are grown people who cannot communicate, and it is frustrating.
