Pros

Good worklife balance - as a lot of people are not motivated to do more than the minimum - not rewarded to do so. Great place to retire or if you want to get paid to do very little thinking. There are great people in manufacturing that knows what they are doing, but the support functions (bar a few really good people) are toxic.

Cons

So much, this is probably the only organisation that I will not recommend to anyone. I am generally realistic that most organisations has pros and cons, and generally speaking it’s unfair to taint one organisation with the same brush. But my experience here is not something I wish upon anyone. 1. Incompetent middle management: there are a few good directors and senior managers that are good leaders - in the sense that they care about their employees and skilled in their jobs. But most (even the recent external hires) are useless. Refuses to listen to feedback, put the blame on their own staff, bad mouth their own staff to stakeholders, I have even witness active sabotage by managers to their own staff - as they felt threatened. Managers and directors also provides absolutely no coaching or job training, and there are empty promises given to staff (promises that they were in no position to make good). Some of the managers have risen the ranks purely due to tenure, which is problematic as they have no people leadership qualities - or received training. I see a misalignment between what is promoted at townhalls and other executive level briefings - and what’s actually encouraged and supported by middle management. 2. Change resistance: I say ‘resistance’ only because there is no other word for something much harsher. The directors and managers mentioned above actively sabotage change - lip service is paid that we need to change and we are doing things to change - but in reality, efforts made by employees to actually improve things are stopped by middle management. There are recent hires that are proactive and really trying to push for change - in some department that’s seen some improvements. But in most, that’s met with such toxic resistance and denial - that there’s been high attrition rates of recently hires. 3. Integrity - this was so lacking, some directors knew their managers were incompetent but does nothing, and no feedback is passed onto senior management. Managers lie to directors on work done by the team and take credit from their team members. I’ve seen manager ‘bury’ team members when they see them as a threat (real or not). 4. Accountability- no clear accountabilities, lots of pointing fingers, passing the blame etc. resulting in a few people and teams taking on the bulk of the work and other teams being leeches and dead weight. This is probably the worst job I’ve had, I’ve worked much longer hours at other companies, with more work pressure, more deliverables and much higher expectations. but this is the first and only place that has disgusted me. Once again it’s not all teams, I’ve really enjoyed the interaction with a few of the manufacturing teams.

Pay is fine, they’re a little stingy with bonuses. But it’s pretty stable and the work life balance is unmatched

Cons

Bonuses are a little sketchy and they try to undermine it as much as they can
