Pros

3 weeks paid vacation, nice people to work with, nice location in Pleasanton, interesting technology a good place to learn about cryptography and anti Tamper technology

Cons

I felt the management, did not get complete "buy in " from the potential customers. ASIC were designed and built with no real target goals from customers. To many design goals were based on a wink and a nod. Most of the schedules and deadlines were missed.

Pros

I could work from home with flexible work teams, flexible hours, a creative environment. The tools were state of the art.

Cons

The company was inadequately funded and this prevented them from take it to the next step. Eventually they were acquired by Boeing . Key leaders in the company departed early.

Pros

The opportunities to work with smart, talented people are fantastic. Some of the projects are very interesting while others will have you working on very old technology.

Cons

They use proprietary tools in lue of industry standards. This can have a negative effect on productivity and on career growth for employees. If you can deal with the limited exposure to industry standard tools and can adjust to the command/control management style of the founders then this may be a good home for hardware engineers. CPU Tech is not a good environment for software engineers if they wish to actually build new software that impacts the success of the company. Most of the software is built using out-dated technologies. You will be stuck in the mud for a long time.
