Pros

Strong base salary for the industry, good training provided in home offices (Bloomington, IL), underwriters, claims department, agent support and technical support are all helpful and easy to get a hold of.

Cons

Home offices are too far removed from what the market is doing in the Western United States to adjust accordingly. Hard to compete on getting in front of people when you can't be competitive on price. Management is interested in helping those that get off to a fast start, but pays less attention to those wanting to succeed that may need a little boost initially in getting their business off the ground. The benefits are good but very expensive for an entire family. Difficult getting life insurance policies issued because of the strict underwriting guideline, making it harder to help clients and achieve sales goals.
