Pros

- Communication. Quarterly town hall meetings. - On-boarding and company swag make the great first impression - Fun company events where lots of money is spent- I get the impression this is to make the impression that we're something we're not.

Cons

Sadly I agree with a lot of the negative comments regarding the leadership issues with COPE. They make poor decisions with hiring at the executive level that become very obvious once you work alongside them. People throw each other under the bus at the drop of a hat. Good people are forced out and the ones you really like tend to leave on their own within 1 year because they're overworked. The veterans foster a cutthroat environment. They don't trust new comers and at times can be pretty rigid and difficult to work with. Any push back is met with a severance package. I'm sorry to say this but HR is aware and they perpetuate it. They're cold, they don't sympathize. I would not recommend joining unless you're looking for a short term stepping stone.

Pros

Chart you future in value based care! Rare opportunity to work on a team of top notch experts from across health plan and risk bearing provider operations and strategy, leveraging a company owned pop health / TPA operations platform to build, run and optimize health plans, IPAs, ACOs and ensure success in various types of value based payment arrangements. Most firms in the space are either consulting or tech, CHS is a blend that not all only supports payer and provider clients but now operates its own IPA and ACO, leveraging the sane tech and experts. Opportunities for learning and growth are unmatched, particularly with relation to capitation and delegation.

Cons

Hours can be long, much like management consulting, however with the firm actually operating client and firm affiliated IPA, ACO, health plan TPAs/MSos, UM, CM, EDW, etc the stakes are higher. Client situations can be challenging, with a lack of clarity as information is gathered, no two engagements are the same, so success requires one to be a self starter with excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to manage up and organize/align either SMEs or with account team, depending on your role
