Pros

Good health benefits. Management is approachable and responsive. My salary was competitive and appropriate for the NYC economy. At the end of each year, they find ways to do something nice to show appreciation for their employees (i.e. a gift, extra cash, extra holidays, etc).

Cons

I can't think of any right now.

Pros

Incredible work-life balance. I have never, ever stayed a minute past when my shift is over (unless asked well in advance). Even so, as most HD positions here are remote, it would be a minimal inconvenience. Compensation is decent, more or less industry-standard for the area company is based in. Benefits are fantastic. Healthcare, vision, and dental are heavily subsidized by the company - in my case, as an individual, I don't pay a penny out of pocket for any of my coverage. Generous PTO of 4 weeks for most positions. There is a 401k match from the company after 6 months. Overall, this is still a fantastic role if you: 1. Recently graduated, or have little to no IT experience - this is a good first step into the world of IT and you will get hands-on experience providing frontend application support. 2. Value work-life balance over anything else. I'd especially recommend this for new families - management here has always been incredibly kind and understanding whenever personal responsibilities come up during the day. You will have ample time to spend with your family and will rarely, if ever, be expected to work past your 40 hours. Working remote can reduce or eliminate the need for childcare. There is frequently ample downtime throughout the day.

Cons

Very little room for growth, especially if you start out in an entry-level position - it will be very difficult to be seen by the right people to move forward here if you are closer to the bottom of the totem pole, and management may not be able to advocate for you. You will need to fight tooth and nail and constantly be a self-advocate if you want to do more here - there are no annual performance reviews, no bonuses, no raises, and no clear track to head down if you want to work towards any sort of promotion. Many projects within CMA are pretty behind in the world of tech. If you are early in your career, you will probably want to spend time outside of work hours studying up on recent tech news and trends if you want to stay relevant for other jobs.
