The following summary is a documented and accurate version of this story:
-Employee was recruited on 10/21/2015 from another employer where pay was entirely commission based, and employee had concerns about not being treated well.
-Employee was brought on at a base wage of $23/hr plus commissions, spiffs, benefits, etc.
-During employment, this employee received 3 regular reviews and was making $35/hour upon separation, in addition to aforementioned benefits in less than 3 years
-Company provided vehicle, fuel, uniforms, cell phone, and tablet. Company provided loans to employee for the purchase of new personal tools, and yearly allowance for misc uniform items like boots and gloves.
-Employee was granted 16 time off requests for vacation or personal reason with no resistance
-Employee was provided paid training, including training out of state which included travel, lodging and transportation
-Employee received personalized (to his request) trips/incentives for performance
-Employee received a long term modified work schedule to be able to take his children to school in the mornings
-Employee worked an average of 50.24 hours per week
-Employee received a $4000 loan at 0% interest to pay for personal expenses.
-Employee left with no notice, coming in on a payday Friday in civilian clothes. At time of separation, employee still owed a substantial balance to the company and was unable to pay at that time.
While we recognize we are not perfect, we feel that we do a better job that just about anyone out there in a difficult industry. There is a very high rate of turnover in our industry as a whole, and seniority in more companies peaks at 2-3 years for most companies. The difference is, we care. We are actively and constantly striving to better ourselves and create the new norm for our industry.
