Pros

-Bonuses -4 day work week (however thank to VillageMD, schedules are being integrated meaning that employees no longer have 3 consecutive days off), -Free food (not as frequent as before) -Opportunities for promotion, -Plenty of opportunities for overtime, when the company is willing to pay it. -Paid lunch breaks

Cons

Recent merge with VillageMD has put a bad taste in the mouth of all long-term employees. VillageMD is creating too many unnecessary changes in hopes of unifying all companies (SH, CityMD, etc.) but if it's not broken don't fix it. They lack understanding of the different work cultures and you end up feeling like just another number. Employee morale has gone down the drain and company turnover rate is abysmal. Don't feel supported by the management above site manager. Their focus is on numbers, ratings and pushing surveys. Is this a doctor's office or a retail store? Frequently reminded of the possibility of "secret shoppers". PTO and sick time are combined so if you use PTO just make sure you have enough leftover in case you're sick. It is bad enough we must deal with difficult patients, maybe dangerous ones depending on your site location, but the support is not there at all. You will have days where you may be working by yourself in the front, due to callouts and not enough employees across the board. If your site has enough coverage you may get pulled to assist another location. Long tiring hours, only 30 min breaks on any shift less than 12 hours. On 12 hour shifts, you're no longer allowed to take a 50 min break you must separate it into 30 and 20 minutes. We used to get an hour break every shift, with an additional 20 on This isn't on the company but, the patients can be horrible people. Rude, lazy, argumentative and will threaten you. If you are willing to take verbal abuse then you should be fine. Some members of management that work on site are unprofessional, lazy, not willing to help and emotionally immature. If they are having a bad day they will take it out on you. Also, others love to micromanage and make you feel like you don't know what you're doing. Others don't know how to do anything outside of their job, when the company expects management to be able to assist the back and the front. Job insurance is expensive, high premiums and high deductibles. Expect to pay a lot at the doctor. Copay is waived at CityMD for employees using their insurance but you can surely expect many billing issues and balances after your visits. I don't know what they do with our taxes but come time for income taxes don't even expect any money. You will have to pay back so much because apparently "CityMD does not take out enough taxes", according to a tax analyst. And last but not least, GOSSIP. People talk so much in this company it is disgusting.

Hands-on experience with EMR systems and patient documentation. Strong patient-facing experience with diverse cases and populations. Exposure to working with multiple providers and medical specialties. Fast-paced environment that builds adaptability and multitasking skills.

Cons

Pay may feel lower compared to the intensity and volume of work- but unfortunately is typical for premed/prehealth professionals.
