Pros
1. You can practice dealing with a needy boss. Daniel will check on your progress every hour and will grow increasingly needy if you don't reply him right away, not unlike a controlling partner who calls every 10 min to make sure you are not cheating. You never get used to it, you just learn to live with the pain. "Are you there? Did you see my message? why don’t you reply? what’s going on? Please confirm Hello? ? ? ?" - Daniel Silver 2. You can practice your time management skills. You are suppose to work 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. Any hint of wanting a rest will be dismissed by Daniel as either bad for your health (I mean seriously? but it's true) or unethical. However, if you attempt a more direct approach he might consider it and mock you for the rest of your life for ever asking him. "This is the second time you mentioned the word 'weekend' in two hours." - Daniel Silver 3. You can practice living on a very low budget. Junior gets 3500 a month before tax (in New York), considering you are working 7days weeks, you are getting paid $10 an hour. But since you are basically just sleeping when you are not working, what's good about earning money anyways? "I don't think break is healthy for you" - Daniel Silver 4. You can practice anger management. Daniel speaks in a way that either infuriate you, or tame you. He is aggressvie, disagreeable, manipulative and condescending. He doesn't hesitate to let you know that you steped on his toes by telling him his business partner is a nice person. He is always ready to debate with you and win. He always creates anxiety among the working space when he is the only one making changes the day before deadline. Then when work is not done on time he accuses his employees who are already working 7 days a week of not cranking enough. Ultimately you will feel it's your responsibility and your fault. He will make you his slave, both physically and mentally, ready to be abused. "Do you like it? Do you think it's done? Then you are not a true architect." "Maybe? What do you mean?" "You are just a junior." - Daniel Silver 5.You can learn about tech. Daniel is very professional at technical side of the business. As a design director, he once spent days figuring out how to set up remote desktop facing multiple deadlines. More importantly, with the amazing technical skills he possesses, he makes sure an employee is kicked out of the company system (Teams, vpn, remotedesktop etc.)the moment the employee resign from job,and not give the employee a chance to say goodbye to other kind and nice co-workers in the team. 6.You can practice Zen. Daniel has such a bad taste but is so judgemental. You will be asked to watch him sketch on your screen via zoom for the whole afternoon, and make screen shots, so that later you can make his sketch a model until 1AM, just for him to do it all over again the next day. You grow emotionally detached from the ugly things that you are asked to make, and learn to let go. Everything fades, isn't it? Of course that includes your health and time. Why not give it to a great cause of feeding another's ego? "Architects like to work till very late. They just like to work. They don't care for themselves. " - Daniel Silver 7.You can observe a controlling personality like in a safari park! How exciting! The most important thing to know about Daniel is that he is a control freak. Anyone can google the typical traits of a controlling personality, and he fits them all. Don't argue with him, because you don't win. He will tirelessly repeat himself and debate with you if you have different idea than his until you give up because you are exhausted. HE NEEDS WINNING. Under the cover, there is a deep deep feeling of insecurity and anxiety. He needs to feel safe, and the way to do it is to be dominant and control everyone around him. His working long hours is also the symptom of the same illness. Although I'm just being salty and angry at him when writing all these stuff, I feel genuinly sorry for him when I'm about to finish. He is just a baby who hurts people, and we are all babies. Part of us never grow up, in good ways and in bad ways.
Cons
They do provide H1B if you are nice to Daniel, but you are also tied to the company so think about it twice.
