Pros

CIPPlanner has a good product, flexible for most customers.

Cons

No HR Departement. Two persons in charge of the company (husband and wife). Unclear of the position and job duties of each employee. Very bad travel expenses management (you may never get reimbursed for your travel expenses even when approved by the CEO himself). No IT department in case your computer faces a technical issue, in that case you should wait until the tech people in China wake up and work it out with them in your own personal time (and this generally take hours). Very limited workspace, no kitchen, no coffee. The CEO is very implicated in the projects with the clients, giving a little room for the rest of the team to work efficiently. He is in most project the PM himself. No product training or resources tools in the beginning. Outdated files available on a shared repository, forcing you to do a double job. The work/life balance is very hard to maintain since you would have to work nighttime with China team and most of weekends.

Pros

The company operates on a project-based organizational structure, everyone in the project team is required to play a dynamic rule and be able to support any functions at a moment's notice. By working here one can acquire the equivalence of years of software implementation and public/private sector business operations in a very short time. The primary software product, CIPAce, also offers tremendous opportunities for employees new and old to contribute their insights and design. The product is fully configurable to tailor for each clients' needs. This allows any employees to offer and contribute to product's enhancements. This is really what I personally find the most rewarding and I've personally drove and developed many new modules for the product since I've been with this company. The company is still rapidly expanding, so the opportunity for employee growth is aplenty.

Cons

The company is both a software developer and implementation consultancy. As such, typical project implementation pace is rapid and the schedule can sometimes be really demanding. Travel requirement may also be very demanding and sometimes travel accommodation may not be top-notch as most of the company's client are public-sector agencies with very strict travel policies for their contractors.
