Terrible exp! - PHP Web Developer CHARGED.fm Employee Review

Gained so much experience here not only in my own writing but managing social media for businesses and invaluable experience interviewing bands and learning about the music industry. When I first started interning for Charged.fm I was given mostly sports stories to cover. After seeing that I could cover sports, and telling them my true interest was music and entertainment, they allowed me to start covering my own topics, designing my own articles, and giving freedom of expression I seldom see elsewhere. I was encouraged to be independent, which taught me a tremendous amount about time management and overcoming creative struggles. I really enjoyed working for them. My boss was as good of a friend as my fellow staff writers.

Never had any cons. Cool building located on the water. Awesome environment. Great staff. No complaints here.

As a contributing intern, you're able to get bylines, which is a plus

No real structure for interns, I didn't really learn, and nobody really looked over or critiqued any of my writing or cared enough to. They closed their old location in February and have yet to even tell any interns if they will be re-opening any time soon, and none of the guidelines they said we were going to follow ever came through. They are very picky about who writes what and really don't seem to care about if a certain topic is your forte or not. Plus, a lot of their reviews online are negative and I don't want to be associated with a brand like this.
