They’ll bring new staff in on higher salaries than existing staff doing the same or an enhanced role. Pay rises don’t even touch the increase in inflation, hence why you should come in on the great salary and run as soon as the beginning of the new financial year. You WILL make more money elsewhere doing the same or less work. Wouldn’t ask about career progression because you will just be told “No.”. In summary, I wouldn’t stick around longer than you have to.
