Pros
I was based in a temporary field office, but I worked on a number of different projects around the US. I had amazing leaders, co-workers and team-mates. The work was interesting, challenging and I felt like I was making a difference in my community. I learned everything I know about remedial investigations and cleanup from CDM on these projects. I would love to work for them again.
Cons
The culture in the field office was much more relaxed than in the larger corporate offices. Everyone behaved much differently and tended to get away with things they normally wouldn't in a permanent office location. At the end of my employment, I was considered a local hire, and was terminated rather than be allowed to stay with the company and transfer to another CDM project. I was at the height of my professional career and it was a huge blow.
