      Pros

      Autonomy, certification reminders and trainings.

      Cons

      The pay seemed good at first, but PCAs get annual raises, PTO, and paid for most holidays when school is closed. RBTs don't get any of that which makes a difference in the pay differential. Also, they bill for at least twice what you're paid while you don't get those benefits. The insurance for 2025 was some kind of non-insurance which was incredibly difficult to use.

      Pros

      I have never had any issues contacting the team and having concerns resolved, and the family/work balance has been wonderful. The professional development opportunities and college discounts are greatly appreciated.

      Cons

      Health insurance coverage could be improved, and the steps to become an RBT could be quicker. Additionally, we currently have no PTO, vacation, or sick time, though they do make you aware of this when you're hired.
