Pros
I've worked with this company for a while now, and they have been putting in the work to improve. One of the best parts is the people! Most of them are supportive, fun and willing to jump in and help out. My teammates have been great and I appreciate the approachable leadership who have been around for 25+ years and know the industry inside and out. Management genuinely cares and has started putting more focus on employee appreciation, mentoring some of the officers that need some help, and communication, which has made a noticeable difference. There are tons of shift options, so it's great for college students, people looking for a second job, or anyone who needs a flexible schedule. Endless overtime opportunities are available if you're looking to earn more, and if you’re motivated, there’s a chance to join an elite team with higher pay and more specialized work. Their EP team does some cool events and sites that are fun and pay well. The training is excellent and completely free, which is a huge plus for anyone new to security or wanting to grow their skills for moving into law enforcement or military careers. It's time outside of work, but it's so worth it. I have never experienced training offered outside of the initial licensing requirements. They have recently brought on a consulting firm to help iron out some long-standing issues, and it’s already showing results — better professionalism, stronger enforcement of policies, and improved communication. The new uniforms are also a major upgrade and help give us a more professional appearance. They are much more comfortable too. The old ones were not attractive. THANK YOU CBI! Overall, this is a solid company that’s making real efforts to raise the standard in the security industry. If you’re looking for a reliable place to start, get trained, and be part of a team that’s constantly improving, this is a great place to be. The training is the best there is and they are working hard to recruit better officers.
Cons
Like any job in the security field, there are some challenges and limitations. The industry has a natural cap on pay and limited upward mobility, and turnover can be high, so you’re often working with new faces. If you’re filling in at a site you’re unfamiliar with, you may not always have all the info you need quickly enough, but that’s improving too as they work on communication and better software. Last minute requests are typical and sometimes the paperwork doesn't move as quickly. Pay and positions change each time you move between sites, but there are usually lots of options so you can pick your poison and do what works best for you.
