Pros
1. Management Transparency and Availability 2. Self driven Innovation and Path Building 3. Meritocracy These three facets make working here challenging, engaging, and motivating. If you think that something is inefficient or inconsistent with the mission of the organization, you can change it. Feedback is swift and honest (from CEO and colleagues), but good work is recognized not just within your silo, but across the entire company, (unsolicited).
Cons
- Lack of a sense of community between the two offices With two offices (Israel and US) there is a sync every two weeks, but it's very high level business focussed, less about the lives, goings-on of our colleagues. Within the US office, everyone knows about each other's lives and their personal motivations, but that doesn't carry across the ocean unless someone travels. I think more could be done to bridge that social gap. - From 0 to Fire Classic startup problem, but with a lack of some formal safeguards and standards, issues can arise and immediately derail all other work and focus. Processes/hiring will solve this, but in the meantime this adds a level of uncertainty to the day-to-day.
