Pros

I wasn't there long enough to come up with this.

Cons

I had an interview with them. It went find. Nothing out of the ordinary. They offer me the position later the same day, without checking any of my reference. I asked if I was going to receive an offer letter. They said they didn't do offer letters that they will send me to the text. I accepted the position at a lower rate than we discussed. They wanted me to start the same day, but I couldn't due to my current job. (That was a Wednesday). I offered to come in a few hours and do their Employees Rough Draft prior to being put on payroll. I also came in the Saturday before to meet with them and go over things too. (Off the clock). I felt good about it, but when we started interviewing people for a positions they were misclassifying employee's classification. They said employees like to be 1099 contractor. I explained the guidelines and rules and regulations. On Sunday evening I got a call and they wanted to change the agreement that I was going to be a regular employee to independent contractor. They liked my skill sets but wanted to do the first 90 days as a trial base to see if they like me or like them. I kept declining. There are several things I saw that were not in compliance with the Labor Laws with the short time I "volunteered" my time there. I was also told there were PTO and then told there wasn't. Only 5 holidays.

Pros

The people who work here are nice, interesting, funny, and hardworking. We always have great conversations even when things get stressful. The products are also genuinely great, which makes selling them so much easier. Also, the CFO Jane is extremely understanding and though tough when she needs to be, always fair as well. There was an employee party last winter that was just AMAZING and everyone shared their CAcafe stories. Many were moved to tears because they loved their jobs so much.

Cons

None really. I honestly hated all of my jobs before this one. Now I actually look forward to going to work. Also, I know that the male employer can be loud sometimes, but honestly it's just part of his personality and I don't think any mature person would have trouble understanding that it's nothing personal or mean-spirited.

Pros

The coffee is actually tasty.

Cons

It was very obvious to me when I first started that the owner and his wife, Jane, were not concerned with the well-being of their employees. I decided I would try it out, just in case my first impression was wrong. Within three days of working there, I was given no breaks and was yelled at numerous times. I worked as a Social Media Assistant and quickly made an effort to fix the broken English that scattered their every page. I was yelled at for doing so by the owner, who needed another worker to translate what he wanted me to do because he spoke no English. He was so unsatisfied with my changing his wording that he insisted I use his Google translated descriptions about smooth bowel movements. He and Jane were constantly arguing and even the secretary at the front desk would roll her eyes at their behavior. When I started my position I was meant to be part time, but they told me they wanted me there full time, which my schedule didn't allow for. I agreed to stay full time for the first couple days, but then my schedule would have to become part time. When I emailed Jane to give her notice of my schedule change, she told me not to come back. And, I hate to say it, but being let go in that very moment had me so relieved! Please don't waste your time with these people. This is not a healthy work environment. Find a position with a company that will treat their employees right.
