Pros

State job. Insurance, 403b (no match), longevity bonuses after 3 years, 4 different choices in health plans, if a student calls out in less than 24hrs, you can still claim your time on your timesheet. The office staff/bosses are respectful and nice, they care!

Cons

Maybe it’s silly but I really dont have any complaints.

Pros

Students are wonderdul and some staff are great!

Cons

This review is specific to the Colebrook school environment. The staff and students are amazing. The space itself is sad. A good amount of students have medical disabilities and are in wheelchairs, yet the environment is not completely accessible. Only one accessible entrance/exit, so if a fire /other threat blocked that door many students would be screwed There is a playground but most of the items are not accessible for the students. The set up of the school also isolates the students with more complex disabilities, they stay are one side of the building and the more typical kids stay on the other side. It's also sad, special events (trips, pizza parties etc,) will be announced for the whole school "everyone come get pizza" then they announce that it is not for everyone, only the higher functioning side of the building. The resources at this school are also poor. The "library" is a bookshelf with outdated books, one about how much of a hero Christopher Columbus is. They have no specialist classes such as art or adaptive PE for the students. They "encourage" inclusion and had a campaign of "start with hello" to create school unity, but we started with hello and then did nothing else Most of admin have never actually been teachers, which should be the first red flag for any educators entering the building. Principal is too busy showing off her white savior complex by bragging about going to Africa to actually support staff Only 1 transitional specialist/ job coach for a whole highschool.
