Sometimes a little disorganised with larger projects

There's plenty of big, interesting tech challenges to get stuck into. It's very fast paced so there's no chance of getting bored. There's an enormous potential for personal growth. I've learnt a huge amount in just five months which has helped me gain confidence in my own abilities. I don't think I've every shipped so much to production in such a short space of time! Psychological safety isn't just a buzzword at interview. It's a very welcoming and supportive team to work with. We all not only have a voice, but are encouraged to contribute ideas across all areas of the business. The company mission and values are very strong, it's great to be working in an environment where everyone is driven by that same sense of purpose.

There's a lot of complex information to take in which can feel overwhelming at first. An early startup by very nature is full of ambiguity. It's relentlessly busy, priorities change and the workload can be intense. If you're not used to it, it can be tricky keeping up the pace in an environment where processes are not yet fully developed. For me that's the buzz of working in a startup. It's what I missed working in a larger company and it's what I've signed up for. I have had a few frustrations but I've been able to discuss those frustrations openly when they happen, safe in the knowledge that support is there to work through them if I need it. And I can't ask for more than that.
