I worked for Butter Beans 10 years ago and I still think about what a great company it was. They gave me full freedom to develop my own curriculum.

I have nothing negative to say about working here

Great kid centered activities Ability to visit some great places in NYC (gardens,farms,markets & restaurants for free) Location was easily accessible (15th st. close to the 2 & 3 trains)

It was extremely understaffed. 1 counselor for every 4-5 children. NO LUNCH BREAK!!! This right there should be against the law (and it is). You are suppose to eat with the children,but if you didn’t bring your own food,you would not eat. The agenda is so jammed packed that me and the girls had to set up a schedule that allowed us to use the restrooms and have a 10-15 minute break (some days that 10-15minute was not possible). If you don’t mind being on your feet all day,snacking because a eating a meal is not possible during the 8 hours you are there. Taking public transportation with a group of 20-25 very active kids on scorching summer days. Than this job is for you.
