Cons
This internship summary should really read, "Looking to take advantage of young college students looking to learn about the fashion, marketing and retail industry. But too bad because what WE really need is someone over-educated to do manual labor and menial tasks free of charge." That's right, don't expect to learn a single thing working at this JOKE of a company. The interns are treated as less than dirt. While here, I was told numerous times that I was stupid and the reason for the downward progress of Millennials. I was yelled at for not sweeping properly - yes, you did read that correctly. I still to this day joke that I worked for the real life Devil Wear's Prada. If only it had actually been that funny. If you intern here expect to take out the trash, get coffee, do the dishes, send the exact same emails everyday to customers who clearly don't want to come back into the store and then further annoy those same customers by calling them up once a month to tell them about whatever sale is going on right now. As if they care. The "CEO" is a joke and also the one responsible for always having a negative remark. She doesn't think that anyone is as good as she is. In fact, on one occasion a sales associate came into the back room and said a customer was asking for her. She got excited until she was told the name of the customer. Apparently it wasn't a regular customer who likes to spend absurd amounts of money on old lady clothing because upon hearing the name of the customer she said, "She thinks she's the (insert s-word) because she only shops from our sales racks" and then walked out frustrated to talk to the customer. That's right she literally swears and berates customers behind their backs. As for the rest of the employees, they also talk behind her back and each others all the time. It's unprofessional but it happens every. single. day. On top of that, when the CEO is mad she will also bring employees into the backroom, lock the door and proceed to literally SCREAM at them as if no one can hear her. Word to the wise CEO, we all know what's going on.
