The management. There was zero morale in the department. We didn't have team lunches, team outings, team anything. Everyone was micromanaged on tasks that did't matter (how to input notes into the agency management system THEIR way) but no real, important information was shared. The account managers were unhappy, and the sales team didn't have any guidance from the boss. We spent all our time updating sales spreadsheets rather than selling or bouncing ideas and strategy off each other. ONLY 10 DAYS OF PTO. No sick days. No personal days. As few holidays as they can possibly get away with. Completely unreasonable, especially if you have kids. You have to shave everyday. You're not allowed to eat at your desk or have any drinks without lids like a toddler. Calls are recorded. All internet activity is logged. I didn't even have enough security clearance to update adobe flash. You're not supposed to have your cell phone visible on your desk. Certain rules and exceptions apply to some employees, but not others. Boss was a total cheapskate. No cell phone. No mileage paid for. No gas paid for. No car available to use for trips. No plane ticket paid for (might be able to split it if approved in advance). No holiday bonus. No carrier incentive bonus shared with employees. This is cubicle world, and the one and only conference room available to use was always booked by other departments. You would never want to meet a client at the office for this reason. Cold calling from the office was awful too - one of the account managers was constantly being loud, negative, and trying to stir up office trouble, so it was impossible to concentrate. Any time you left the office you would have to report to everyone where you were going and what you were doing - even though the job was outside sales. This was mostly because the account manager mentioned above would complain because "they are in the office doing all the work" and the boss basically let her run the office. Word of advice. Read your non-compete very closely - or better yet, don't work here.
