Pros

If at the right property you will want to achieve higher goals and expectations. Worked several properties, and always felt the most valuable under great leadership.

Cons

Beware of belittling, cliques, and if you don't belong to a clique having a target on your back. Terrible leadership at some properties will destroy the most loyal employees.

Hello, I appreciate your feedback, which, of course, causes me some concern particularly as it relates to your lack of awareness of whom to approach regarding human resource issues. Previously I was aware that our HR effort was not meeting our goals and we made some changes to rectify the situation, but apparently not enough. Every team member should be aware of who the HR regional is in their area as well as how to contact them for any reason. Further, they should feel free to ask their supervisor for the information. I realize that sometimes causes uneasiness, but, nevertheless, all team members have the right to discuss any issues or get any desired information from HR with fear of repercussions. It is difficult to respond to the issue of cliques, although I am sure they exist at the hotels as they do in many organizations. The only real way of resolving these kinds of issues is to have sufficient information to allow us to take some action. Again, I know that is difficult in many circumstances. As for visits, I can only speak for myself, but I do try to be thorough in my examinations of hotels because I know that on most occasions, they know I am coming and prepare accordingly. My goal is that the hotel teams prepare for guests and not for me, but I have to make schedules and notify folks when I will be in town so I have the opportunity to meet and discuss topics that are meaningful to the success of the property. Otherwise, it is hit or miss and trips can be less than productive. Finally, again I thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience with BLA. Please feel free to offer any additional information relating to your concerns so we can try and make our company a better place for guests and team members alike. In doing so, perhaps we can create an environment that you might find worth revisiting in the future. Best of luck to you. Ron Kendall

Working the weekend, this is a more needed job so weekends are not as optional here.
