      Pros

      This is, by far, the most interesting job I have ever held. No two days alike! I loved the research and historical aspect of this position. Just wish it paid more! The Register of Deeds is, to date, the best boss I ever had. Fair, flexible and compassionate.

      Cons

      Politics. Plain and simple. You are dealing with bureaucracy at its best. The Register had no control - all financial and policy decisions are made by the county board.
