Pros
Buddakan is breathtakingly a gorgeous place with gorgeous people, but that's about all I can say that was positive about the job.
Cons
I'll try to keep this short, but where do I even begin? You can start by going on Craigslist and seeing how many open calls Stephen Starr restaurants are having because there is a continuous revolving door of people. Don't think you are that special because you landed a job there, they are simply desperate. In my opinion there was essentially no employee discount provided to their employees. You are only entitled to a discount if you are dining there, on your day off. Discount is only 20% but are required to leave a 15% tip (which is fair), but eventually you are really only left with a 5% discount. The free family plan meals are a joke, look disgustuing and are always chicken or meat- not vegetarian friendly. Holidays? You better be sure to work all of them with no time and a half. Work/life balance is non- existent here. Management felt really unsupportive, and I felt as if I was being attacked more often than supported. Favoritism definitely exists here. I also found the male managers to be more easy going, and friendly than their female counterparts.
