Good people, career progression, opportunity to learn outside your role.

It's a Law Firm, the environment is intense, but overall I like it.

Pros

Firm is relatively small, and you can get a lot of direct experience that would otherwise be unavailable.

Cons

Management is opaque, and toxicity and favoritism are rampant in NY office. The firm is also prone to surprising associates with unexpected responsibilities, and operates at the mercy of a handful of smart, but mercurial, narcissistic, and abusive, partners.
