Pros

None, unless you want a real life reenactment of George Orwell's 1984.

Cons

Seriously, all the bad press and comments you hear about working at Bromcom are true and I would advise anyone considering to work here to think again. Revolving door of staff - There are two types of staff at Bromcom, people that have been here for at least 15 years who stay in 1 role all their life and wouldn't be able to cope anywhere else and staff who join Bromcom and realise how much of a mess it really is and then leave within 3-6 months. Teams are left crippled with work load as they are constantly training new staff with no relevant experience for that role. Run as a dictatorship - All staff are heavily micromanaged by the owner of the company and work in fear as public humiliation seems to be the norm here. The company will never go anywhere as great ideas from any team are usually quashed as it's the owners way or the highway! Every member of staff is expected to write a weekly report on everything they have done, which is then printed off, and the owner goes through this over the weekend, writes comments, underlines and circles and is emailed out for all to see Monday morning - come on, we're adults. Family run business stuck in the dark ages - Most of the senior members of staff here have the same surname or are family friends of the owner, who are placed into management roles they have no experience in. Everything is done on paper or spreadsheets with process after process and sign-off after sign-off, with the owner having the final say on anything, not matter how minuscule. The staff who have no concept of life outside of Bromcom think this is the norm, but the new staff who often join from professional, respectable companies are gobsmacked how this place behaves - and then leave. No investment in staff - There is always some poor excuse not to spend any money here, need new equipment, furniture, training? forget it. I find it astounding that regular staff are treated like this yet senior managers (family) enjoy all the perks.

Pros

I wish I could think of any.

Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. I witnessed grown adults crying due to the way they were treated whilst working here. The was a toxic culture verging on bullying. It wasn't a good experience.

Pros

Some good employees who are truly passionate about education, and making a difference in students/school staff lives.

Cons

People: Colleagues simply don't show up to meetings and keep their cameras off. I find this quite unique that its part of the culture to not show up, not send any comms about not being able to attend. Culture: Pure toxic: most managers play games to avoid any blame if something goes wrong. When something goes right, everyone wants the credit/makes it their idea. Managers are basically absent for employees, which makes it challenging to know where to focus your attention. To highlight how blame works at Bromcom - I had something stolen from my desk whilst I visited the toilet, the company’s response was that I should have taken my possessions with me (thus, being my fault for not adhering to the company’s guidance). Etiquette: Colleagues simply don't show up to meetings and keep their cameras off (even with customers!) I find it quite unique that its part of the culture to not show up, not send any comms about not being able to attend. The company accepts it and doesn’t seem to care even about the staff's waste of time. Tech: As a company, they cannot build and maintain the basics. The system consistently crashes, and customers always complain - there's no urgency to fix these issues. HR: I wouldn’t bother communicating with them - zero care given.
